Tree giveaway
Saturday 7 February.
In support of ßÙßÇÂþ»’s 1.2m Tree Strategy, to plant one tree for every ßÙßÇÂþ» resident by 2030, ßÙßÇÂþ» Libraries are pleased to be giving away free trees at the following libraries:
- Banstead Library 9.30am to 12 noon
- Byfleet Library 10am to 12 noon
- Egham Library 9.30am to 12 noon
- Ewell Court Library 9.30am to 12 noon
- Guildford Library 9.30am to 12 noon
- Redhill Library 9.30am to 12 noon
- Virginia Water Library 10am to 12 noon
The trees are native, broad-leaved species and come with a stake and guard, ready for garden planting. We will also provide a leaflet containing information on how to plant and care for your tree to give it the best start in its new home.
Available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Lunar New Year craft
Tuesday 17 February from 2pm to 3pm.
£1 per child, suitable for ages 4 years old and over. Children must accompanied by an adult.
Horse craft
Thursday 19 February from 11am to 12pm.
Free event, suitable for ages 2years old and over. Children must accompanied by an adult.
Children's board games club
Thursday 19 February, from 2pm to 4pm.
Join Runnymede Board Games Club for an afternoon of gaming fun.
Suitable for children ages 6 to 13 years. Children 11 years and under must be accompanied by an adult
Free drop in event.
First Aid event for children
Saturday 21 February from 10am to 11am.
- Learn about and try medical equipment.
- Meet local Doctors and Nurses.
- Have a go at bandaging.
- Learn about healthy eating.
- Craft.
- Learn how to use Resuscitation Annie.
Free event, suitable for ages 4 to 11 years old. Children must accompanied by an adult.

No booking required.
Storytime
Every Wednesday from 10.30am to 11am.
No booking required. Suitable for children 5 years and under.
Afternoon storytime
Every Wednesday, from 3.45pm to 4.15pm.
No booking required. Suitable for children aged 4 to 9 years old.

Chat and craft reading friends group
Every Tuesday 10am until 12 noon
Come and join our friendly group to work on your current craft project while chatting, reading and sharing stories.
We use reading to start everyone talking! Helping people to meet new friends and have fun with the aim of combatting loneliness and social isolation.

Meets monthly on Tuesdays from 4pm until 4.45pm.

Junior Chatterbooks group
Meets monthly on Tuesdays from 4pm until 4.45pm.

The junior group has spaces available for children aged from 8 to 11 years. New members are welcome, please speak to a member of staff in the library.

Boards, cards and dice evenings
First Tuesday of the month from 7pm until 9pm.
A social event for adults who enjoy playing board, card and dice games. Free to attend.
Lego club
Saturdays from 3pm to 4pm on the following dates:
- 31 January
- 21 February
- 28 February
Cost £1 per child.
Suitable for children age 5+. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Drop in session, no need to book.
Junior craft club
Saturdays from 2pm to 3pm on the following dates:
- 7 February: Paper Lantern
- 14 February: Felt Heart
- 7 March: Paper Flowers
- 14 March: Printing
- 4 April: Easter Craft
- 11 April: Stem Craft
Suitable for children aged 6 and above, Children must be accompanied by an adult
Cost £1.50 per child.
Drop in sessions, no booking required.
Chess club
Every Saturday from 10am until 11am.
Suitable for ages 7 to 11 who have an understanding of the rules of Chess and are able to play.
Parents are required to stay in the library during sessions. The event is free, however, spaces are limited and a waiting list system will be in place so booking is essential.

Egham library coffee morning
Every Friday, from 10.30am to 12 noon.
Come and meet new people and enjoy a chat over a cup of coffee or tea.
No need to book. Admission free.
Digital support volunteer
- Every Tuesday 2.30pm to 3.30pm
- Every Thursday 10am to 12 noon
- Every Friday from 10.30am to 11.30am
The sessions are Drop In, however slots can be booked in advance if needed. Please speak to member of library staff for more details.
