Summer Reading Challenge
A special reading with Leona Cobham
Friday 15 August at 2pm (Reading lasts approximately 30 minutes).
Join us for a very special reading from wonderful local author Leona Cobham, author of the "Flying Circus" Trilogy.
Leona Cobham is the granddaughter of aviation legend Sir Alan Cobham.
Leona will read a story from her brilliant "Flying Circus" series, which delves into the fantastical lives of four aeroplane friends.
The author's passion for both Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and promoting reading, shines through in her stories, which combine technical detail and personal dilemmas to create engrossing and empowering adventures.
This fantastic event is a great way to celebrate this year's Summer Reading Challenge!
Suitable for ages 7 to 12.

Bring your own bear storytime with author Ellie Pulze
Saturday 23 August, from 2pm to 3pm.
We are thrilled to welcome the amazing Ellie Pulze to Cobham Library for a one of a kind Story Time!
Ellie Pulze, is the author of "Foster Care for Florence and Bear".
Children can bring their own teddy bears along to hear the story of Florence and her friend, Always-There-Bear, who are starting life with their new foster family. As a social worker, writer and mother, Ellie is passionate about empowering children whose stories are often overlooked through her affirming and accessible writing. In this event, she will read a selection of heart warming tales your little ones are sure to love!
Copies of "Foster Care for Florence and Bear" will be available for purchase directly from the author on the day of the event.

Reading groups
Cobham Library Reading Friends
Last Thursday of every month at 11am.
Come and join our friendly group to work on your current craft project while chatting, reading and sharing stories.
We use reading to start everyone talking! Helping people to meet new friends and have fun with the aim of combatting loneliness and social isolation.

Other events
Knit and Natter
Every third Wednesday of the month from 10am until 12 noon.
Come and join a friendly group of ladies knitting and chatting in the library. Just drop in!
Family History research
Every fourth Tuesday of the month from 10am until 12 noon.
Come and access Ancestry for free on the computers at the library. An experienced volunteer will be on hand to provide assistance if needed.
Digital support volunteer
Please note: there will be no digital buddy sessions in August. Restart again every Tuesday from September, from 10am to 12 noon. No booking required.
