Special events

Valentines craft

Saturday 7 February to Friday 13 February. Come and make your very own Valentine's heart buddy!

Cost: 50p per child All day drop in during usual opening hours. No need to book.

Booktrust Storytimes

Thursdays from 2.30pm to 3.30pm, on the following dates:

  • 12 February: Five Enormous Dinosaurs
  • 26 February: The Jellyfish Jiggle

Craft club

Saturday 14 February at 2.30pm.

Come and make a special Valentine's card with a bouquet of heart flowers!

Cost: 50p per child. No need to book.

Half Term events

Drop in during usual opening hours for the following events:

  • Lunar New Year craft from Tuesday 17 February to Saturday 21 February. Come and make design own horse with a real wool mane! Cost: 50p per child. No need to book.
  • Winter Olympics crafts, from Monday 16 February to Saturday 21 February. Design and make a peg doll skier.

Jelly Kelly storytime

Saturday 20 February at 11am.

Local entertainer Jelly Kelly returns to entertain at this special Storytime! Free, no need to book.

Bug club

Saturday 28 February, all day.

Join us for this fantastic session to make a wildflower seed bomb! No need to book. Free activity!

Celebrate Ramadan

Celebrate Ramadan with special colouring sheets from Tuesday 17 February to Tuesday 17 March. Free, no need to book.

Pebble rhymetime and storytime

Pebble rhymetime

  • Every Tuesday from 10:30am until 11am.
  • Every Saturday from 11am to 11.30am

Pebble's trains

Every Friday from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

Come and help Pebble build his train set at Chertsey Library. The track and trains will be out for all ages to play with. Everyone welcome.

Storytime

There are currently no stand alone children's Storytime sessions at Chertsey Library. See section Pebble playtime above. Occasionally we hold other sessions which will be listed under Special events.

Storytime for adults

Come and join our Storytime for Adults!

Monthly on a Thursday, from 2.30pm to 3pm. Upcoming dates and themes: 19 February, Love stories.

One of our library assistants will read a selection of short stories, poems and snippets for you to enjoy and discuss. There is no need to read a book in advance, just turn up on the day and discuss the stories we read aloud, and share your own love of reading! Leave with some ideas for your next read and make new friends.

Everyone welcome!

Followed by refreshments in the Library.

First Edition reading group

Every 6 weeks on a Monday from 3.30pm until 4.30pm.

Chatter and cheer

First Monday in every month from 2pm to 3.30pm.

Drop in for a friendly chat over a cup of tea.

Run in conjunction with Time to Talk and open to anyone.

Chertsey Woolcraft Guild

Every Tuesday from 2.15pm until 4pm.

If you are interested in joining or want to learn about knitting/crocheting or using a spindle, please pop down and they will show you. Everyone is welcome.

Friends of Chertsey library coffee and cake morning

Every Friday from 10am until 12 noon.

No booking required, just turn up to the library to get cake and coffee for £1.50

Bug club

Monthly Saturdays from 2.30pm to 3.30pm, Next session: 31 January

Meet outside the library to explore our exciting new wildlife area and help us build our bug hotel.

Free drop in session, no need to book and everyone welcome.

Do you want help using a computer, the internet, IT related problems or your iPad, tablet or iPhone?
