An introduction to our Capital Projects Programme

We want ßÙßÇÂþ»­ to be a place where everyone can reach their full potential, and no one is left behind. To help with this, we're investing in our buildings. This investment is through our Capital Projects Programme.

We're spending on Capital Projects to build modern, sustainable buildings. This means we can support residents of all ages, from all communities, now and in future.

Our Capital Projects Programme

Our Capital Projects Programme is a plan to build and improve important buildings in ßÙßÇÂþ»­. This programme will run until 2029, and in the next 4 years, we'll spend over £440 million on more than 145 projects. Our Land and Property Service makes sure these projects are done on time, within budget, and meet high standards.

Types of projects

Our Capital Projects Programme has four areas:

1. Special Educational Needs (SEND) and Alternative Provision (AP). We are expanding schools for children with additional needs and disabilities. We're also creating new specialist schools.
2. Mainstream Education and Corporate Parenting. We are creating children's homes, family centres, and housing for care leavers. We are expanding schools to create more places.
3. Adults, Wellbeing, and Health Partnerships. We are providing housing for older adults and those with additional needs and disabilities. This includes short breaks centres, extra care housing, supported independent living, and residential nursing homes.
4. Corporate, Resources, and Lifelong Learning. We are improving fire stations, libraries, youth centres, Gyspy Roma Traveller sites, and other community facilities.
