When the days are shorter and the weather is colder, it is easy to put yourself last. Our wellbeing courses are here to help you put yourself back on the list.

Stay active as you age with our “Stronger for Longer” courses, including Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates.

Or try cookery or nutrition classes covering everything from the basics to diets which support medical conditions

You can turn an interest into a passion, learning face to face or online in a supportive, friendly atmosphere

Whether you want to stretch and relax, cook healthier meals, support your mental health, or simply enjoy some time out in good company, we have a course for you.

Jazz dancing

Move your body

Gentle movement can lift your mood, ease stiffness, and help you feel more energised through the winter months.

Dance

Ballroom and Latin, jazz, tap, ballet, salsa, and more. Learn steps and routines to music, improve your balance and coordination, and enjoy a lively, sociable class.

Yoga and Pilates

Build strength, flexibility, and body awareness through slow, guided movements and breathing. Tutors will help you work at the right level for you, whether you are new or returning.

Tai Chi and Strong for Longer

Support your balance, posture, and confidence with slow, flowing sequences. Strong for Longer and Body Active courses are especially suitable for older adults and anyone who wants to improve strength and mobility in a safe and friendly way.

Winter can feel overwhelming, especially when life is busy. Our mental wellbeing courses give you time and space to reflect, learn, and reset.

Mindfulness

Learn practical techniques to manage stress and anxiety, break unhelpful thinking habits, and bring more calm into everyday life.

Explore how people think and behave, with real world examples and discussion. Topics draw on social, cognitive, clinical, and developmental psychology.

Cookery workshops and courses

Warm up the kitchen with world food, bread baking, and seasonal dishes. Learn step by step with supportive tutors, either in our centres or online from home.

Learn to cook and Cookery for men

Build essential skills if you are new to cooking or not very confident. Learn knife skills, simple methods, and everyday recipes that you can recreate at home.

Nutrition workshops

Find out how diet supports your immune system, sleep, mood, and conditions such as diabetes or menopause. Many workshops combine nutrition theory with practical cookery so that you can taste the benefits.

Our courses and workshops

  • Courses and workshops run during the day, in the evening, and on Saturdays
  • Learn in a centre or online from home, depending on the course
  • Most courses run over several weeks, with Saturday and one day workshops available for shorter options
  • Many courses give you exercises or ideas to continue at home

Our courses run over a period of weeks in Autumn, Spring and Summer. We also offer more specific one-day workshops throughout the year.

Enrolments open every term in March, July and November. If courses have already started you may still be able to join so please contact us.
