Showcasing success, a warm welcome for Councillor school visits
Over the past few weeks, ßÙßÇÂþ»lors have been visiting primary schools across the county. They've seen first-hand the fantastic work happening in classrooms and playgrounds.
These visits are a great opportunity to strengthen partnerships and celebrate the dedication of our school communities.
Highlights include:
- Cllr Clare Curran visited St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Dorking. She joined Headteacher Sam Crome to observe impressive phonics teaching. Reception pupils already making strong progress in reading and writing.
- Cllr Mark Nuti visited St Anne’s Catholic Primary School. Here Headteacher Carmel Martin and Chair of Governors Marguerite Lydon proudly showcased the school’s renovated playground. Funded through council support, the new facilities are designed to inspire active play and promote healthier lifestyles. Giving children the best possible start and helping to drive positive outcomes for the future.
- Cllr David Lewis enjoyed a warm welcome at St Andrew’s School in Cobham, where the Head Girl and Head Boy gave him a tour. He had the chance to see teaching in action and explore the school’s impressive playground facilities. Cllr Lewis looks forward to returning soon to celebrate more of the school’s achievements.
Thank you to all the schools involved for their warm welcome and for showcasing the inspiring work that makes a real difference to children’s learning and wellbeing. They are key in helping to ensure that no one is left behind in ßÙßÇÂþ».
Our councillors have also been busy visiting a selection of our Secondary schools.
