UK Youth Parliament

Young people can have a real say in the decisions that affect their lives. The UK Youth Parliament gives you the chance to share your views and take part in local and national campaigns.

What’s the UK Youth Parliament?

The UK Youth Parliament helps young speak up and make change across the UK. There are more than 300 Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs) aged 11 to 19. Young people elect them every two years.

Can I stand for election?

Any young person aged 11 to 19 can vote in, or stand in, MYP elections.

If you become an MYP, you will:

  • organise events and projects
  • run campaigns
  • work with decision-makers on issues that matter to young people

MYPs meet once a year at the UK Youth Parliament Annual Conference. They also meet in the House of Commons to debate and choose the key issues to campaign on for the year ahead.

Make Your Mark

Make Your Mark is the UK’s biggest youth vote. Young people aged 11 to 18 choose the issues that matter most to them. These votes help shape the campaigns of the UK Youth Parliament and local youth cabinets.
