Guildford parking review 2026

We accepted requests for changes to parking restrictions for consideration in the Guildford parking review 2026 up to the end of October 2025. These are currently being assessed and we will be conducting site visits shortly. Following this, we will discuss the locations to be prioritised with county councillors and then design the schemes prior to advertising our intention to introduce them.

Please note due to the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) taking place in ßÙßÇÂþ», this will be the last parking review conducted for Guildford under the current system, as it will not be possible to complete another one before the LGR changes come into effect on 1 April 2027. We are however still collecting requests for changes to the parking controls in the Guildford borough area, so that they can be considered in due course by the new West ßÙßÇÂþ» Council. If you have a location you would like to be included, please submit a request.

Guildford parking review 2024

Site assessments for the Guildford parking review 2024 took place during July and August 2024. Following discussions with county councillors, the proposed new restrictions were agreed and we advertised our intention to introduce them in two tranches between the beginning of October 2025 and early January 2026. During this time people could let us know their thoughts about what we were proposing.

The advertising period is now over and we are reviewing the feedback on the proposals. Once analysed and collated, we will discuss the feedback with relevant county councillors and decide a way forward at each location. We will publish the outcomes in a report, which will be available on the Guildford parking review 2024 web page. Those schemes that are to be progressed will be implemented in Spring-Summer 2026.

You can still see details of the advertised proposals on the Guildford parking review 2024 web page.
