Swing Riots – Stories from Hampshire. A talk by Jane Harris, Customer and Archives Manager at Hampshire Record Office

Wednesday 21 January 5.30pm to 6.45pm on Zoom

The talk discusses what led to the Swing Riots, how it swept across the county of Hampshire, and its aftermath. Particular attention is given to what happened in and around central Hampshire as rich archival sources survive from those who were involved in the disturbances.

Tuesday 17 to Thursday 19 February, 9.30am to 5pm at ßÙßÇÂþ»­ History Centre, 130 Goldsworth Road, Woking, GU21 6ND

Come along to ßÙßÇÂþ»­ History Centre and discover the fascinating history of transport in ßÙßÇÂþ»­! Get hands on with fun craft activities, make your own rocking boat and airplane, design a brilliant zeppelin, try our transport themed wordsearch, and enjoy colouring activities too. Ages 3 to 12.
Parents and guardians must supervise children. Free parking onsite, buggy friendly and baby change facilities. Donations welcome.

Exhibitions and displays

We regularly showcase free exhibitions and displays inspired by our collection in our foyer. We also host external displays by groups and organisations and would welcome any displays with a ßÙßÇÂþ»­ history connection. If you would like to exhibit at ßÙßÇÂþ»­ History Centre please contact us.
