Public Footpath 85 (Farnham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

The ßÙßÇÂþ»­ Public Footpath No. 85 (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 was made to allow the installation and/or re-alignment of utility services required for the residential development for which planning consent has been granted (WA/2023/00848). The Order came into operation on 7 April 2025. It was due to expire on 6 October 2025 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 6 April 2026 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding in that length of Footpath 85 (Farnham) from its junction with Footpath 89 (Farnham) at Grid Reference. 483837 146935 in a generally south easterly direction to its junction with West Street at Grid Reference. 483873 146823.

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 Number. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route for traffic from the northern end of the closure is:

Proceed in a westerly direction along Footpath 89 (Farnham) for a distance of 45 metres, then continue in a south easterly direction along Footpath 86 (Farnham) – Lion & Lamb Yard - to West Street, then in north easterly direction for 20 metres to the southern point of the closure.

The alternative route for traffic from the southern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
