Temporary Closure Order 2024”
“The ßÙßÇÂþ» Public Footpath from Castle Road to Willows Path, Epsom T6093 (Rights of Way route 67) Temporary Closure Order 2024” which was made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the grounds that works were being or were proposed to be executed on, or near, the above mentioned pathway and came in to operation on 19 February 2024, was due to expire on 18 January 2026 and which prohibits any person from entering or proceeding in that length of the public footpath from Castle Road to Willows Path, Epsom T6093 (Rights of Way route 67) that is carried by the “Castle Road Footbridge” has been extended by ßÙßÇÂþ» until 18 January 2027.
This Temporary Traffic Order is required on grounds of safety to enable Centurion to carry out remedial works to the “Castle Road Footbridge” and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the additional 12 month period of operation of the Temporary Order, which commenced on 19 February 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary prohibition which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians, and dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained via the footway to Castle Road, Dorking Road, Wells Road and, the public footpath from Wells Road to Wheelers Lane T6035 (Rights of Way route 71).
