Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

The ßÙßÇÂþ»­ Public Footpath Number 43 (Chertsey) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 was made on the grounds of public safety due to works being undertaken on or near the highway. The Order came into operation on 12 August 2025. It was due to expire on 12 September 2025 but was continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport for 12 days until 24 September 2025. It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for a second time until 21 October 2025 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 43 (Chertsey) from point A (Grid reference: 501397 167647) to point B (Grid reference: 501824 167575) Shown as a bold black line on plan reference: 3/1/87/H43.

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.

There is no alternative route.
