World in Music

About the Ensemble

World in Music is an pioneering percussion and vocal ensemble from ßÙßÇÂþ» Arts, celebrating global diversity at a local level. Suitable for ages 8-16 and all abilities. Come join young people from across ßÙßÇÂþ» to sing songs, discover new rhythms, music and friends! No experience is needed and all are welcome.

Through our Youth Music funded I Speak Music: Next Generation programme, working with displaced young people and local ßÙßÇÂþ» peers, we saw an opportunity for young people to embrace both western and non-western music traditions.

Using music as a tool, we continue to promote greater wellbeing and mental health in young people, help them build musical skills and to build understanding and friendship between children of all cultural backgrounds.

Led by a team of diverse and innovative musical practitioners, this ensemble aims to amplify the voices of those who make it up, with percussion and vocal activities.

As an inclusive ensemble, we have been especially excited to welcome students from diverse backgrounds and those who have English as a second or other language to this group, as well as local ßÙßÇÂþ» peers. We are also particularly excited to meet young people from vulnerable backgrounds, those who are young carers and are from care experienced backgrounds.
