Awareness Weeks

ßÙßÇÂþ»­'s Short Breaks Week, takes place Monday 1 to Friday 5 December in 2025 and is a celebration of the vital role short breaks carers play in supporting children with additional needs and their families.

Throughout the week, we’ll be hosting events, open days, and information sessions to help you learn more about Short Breaks, meet experienced carers, and explore how you could get involved, whether occasionally or more regularly.

Our fostering events celebrate and support the incredible carers who open their homes to children in need. These events are private to protect the families we serve, but they rely on community sponsorship to make them special. By sponsoring, you’re helping us provide recognition, training, and moments of joy for those who care for ßÙßÇÂþ»­’s most vulnerable children.

Sponsoring a fostering event is a powerful way to give back to your community. It shows your commitment to supporting local families who open their homes and hearts to children in need. Your sponsorship helps build a positive community impact by creating spaces where foster carers feel valued and connected. Our Fostering Winter Ball in 2025 was a heartfelt celebration of the incredible carers who open their homes to children in need. This special evening brings together foster families for a night of recognition, connection, and joy, highlighting the extraordinary commitment of those who have dedicated years to caring for ßÙßÇÂþ»­’s most vulnerable children.

At the Winter Ball, we honour long-service foster carers, presenting awards to those who have reached milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20, and even 30 years of fostering. These carers have changed countless lives, and your sponsorship helps us give them the appreciation they truly deserve.
