Bringing business waste to a Community Recycling Centre

It is illegal for businesses to dispose of their waste through local authority kerbside collections, street bins, local recycling banks or Community Recycling Centres (CRCs).

Business waste is any waste that comes from a commercial activity. If you use part of your home to run your business then any waste from that part is business waste.

Business waste also includes any waste that comes from:

  • Construction
  • Demolition
  • Industry
  • Agriculture

Taking business waste to a waste transfer station

ßÙßÇÂþ»­ residents and non-residents can take business waste to a waste transfer station.

When visiting a waste transfer station to dispose of business waste, you will need to provide proof that you are registered as a waste carrier, broker or dealer. See .

How much does it cost to dispose of business waste?

The costs for disposing of business waste are:

  • Cardboard - £60
  • Car tyres - £25 per tyre
  • Domestic fridges/freezers (not accepted at Epsom) - £100 per item
  • General/commercial - non-hazardous waste (minimum 500kg) - £250
  • Green waste - no large tree trunks (minimum 500kg) - £100
  • Inert, such as mud/bricks/hardcore (minimum 500kg) - £100
  • Mattresses - £50 per mattress
  • Mixed glass (minimum 500kg, not accepted at Guildford) - £50
  • Plasterboard (minimum 500kg) - £120
  • Small waste electrical items, TVs, monitors (not accepted at Epsom or Leatherhead) - £50 per item
  • Waste containing persistent organic pollutants (minimum 500kg) - £350
  • Wood - all grades A, B and C (minimum 500kg) - £110
  • To have your vehicle weighed, it costs £50 per time (not available at Epsom)

The above types of waste must be disposed of separated from any other types of waste. If waste types are mixed, disposal may be charged at a higher rate.
