Step 10: If you do not get a place at your preferred school

What to do if your child does not get a place at their preferred primary, infant or junior school, such as how to go on a waiting list or how to appeal.

Add your child's name to the waiting list

If you are not offered a place at your most preferred school, your child's name may be added to one or more waiting lists for other schools and you will be notified if a place becomes available (for example, if other people decline their offer of a place at those schools).

From 14 May 2025 you can contact us to find out your child's position on the waiting list for:

  • All community and voluntary controlled schools.
  • Academies and foundation, trust and voluntary aided schools, listed below by borough and district.

If your preferred academy and foundation, free, trust and voluntary aided school is not listed below, please contact the school directly. The contact details of each of these schools, along with what types of schools they are can be found on our Directory of 哔咔漫画 Schools.
