Course intent
A course for those of you looking to build your confidence and try new techniques. This is a friendly course, ideal for anyone wanting to try new recipes or master a specific dish.
The intent of this course is for you to learn the skills to enjoy cooking and get great results each week to impress your family and friends.
What will I learn?
You will cover everything from soups, fish, meat, filled pasta, vegetables, scones, cakes, or breads. A fantastic opportunity to learn, cook and have fun, in a small group with our highly experienced tutor. She will provide you with the skills and techniques to leave the course with the confidence to carry on cooking at home.

Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is designed for all cooks with some experience in the kitchen. It is not suitable for beginners.
It will be delivered through live online sessions using Zoom. To fully participate in this course, you will need:
- An email address
- A reliable internet connection
- A computer/laptop /tablet with a fully updated browser
- microphone and webcam.
Once enrolled on this course you will receive detailed instructions for taking part online.
You will need a reasonable selection of kitchenware, including a good-quality chef's knife, cutting board, mixing bowls, measuring jug and spoons, kitchen scales, a whisk, spatulas, a set of pots and pans, and a baking tins, trays, sheet, a kettle and a working hob and oven. The specific items needed will vary depending on the types of dishes prepared, and the tutor can discuss that with you in class.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
Please ensure you have completed the following before the first session:

- You will receive an email outlining the ingredients & resources you need to have available in the first lesson.
- Inform adultlearning@surreycc.gov.uk if you need any adaptations to the recipes.
What can I do when I finish the course?
You can enrol on the same course again next term. It will always include new recipes, ingredients and techniques. We also offer a range of culinary workshops and courses throughout the term, look at our website for all the details.

We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. When you enrol, please let us know if you would like to discuss your extra support needs with a member of the Supported Learning Team who will then contact you as soon as possible. If you are enrolling within 10 days of the course start date, we may not be able to contact you before your first class.
