Course intent
On this short relaxing course, you will learn to write simple and effective lettering with a spring theme which you can use on cards, boxes or other craft projects.
What will I learn?
You will learn:
- How to use different writing tools
- How to write and trace different size lettering
- A new ‘hand’ / style of writing
- About paper folding, scoring and cutting safely
Who is this course for? Is there anything I need to know before joining?
This course is for complete beginners and for those who have completed a Hong Kong Calligraphy course. It is also suitable for you if you are a beginner interested in learning about calligraphy, but perhaps with experience of a workshop.
What do I need to bring to the first class? Will there be any extra costs?
- A3 sketch book – preferably not spiral bound
- Pen or pencil to take notes with
A more detailed materials list will be provided in the first lesson but will not be long.

Progress onto further calligraphy courses and workshops
