Farnham Town Centre Improvement Works
From Saturday 1 November, as part of the Farnham town centre improvement works, Downing Street in Farnham has re-opened and the bus routes have been revised. The temporary bus stop outside Jack and Alice has been moved back to outside the Queens Head on The Borough.
- Stagecoach 4 - Will continue to divert via the A31 and West Street. There are no changes to the timetable.
- Stagecoach 5 – Will continue to divert via the A31 and West Street. There are no changes to the timetable.
- Stagecoach 16/18/19 - Towards Aldershot, the buses will revert to using Union Road and Downing Street instead of the A31 and West Street. There are no changes to the timetable.
- Stagecoach 46 – The service will continue to divert via Farnham Railway Station to enter Farnham via South Street, and will then terminate on Union Road. The return journey will continue to leave Union Road via Long Bridge and Firgrove Hill. There are no changes to the timetable.
- Stagecoach 65 – Towards Alton, the bus will revert to using Union Road and Downing Street. There are no changes to the timetable.
- Stagecoach 404 – The 0751 journey from Farnham Hospital will continue to leave five minutes earlier to allow for extra traffic in the area, and will revert to using Union Road and Downing Street.
From Monday 3 November until 19 December there will be night works taking place on South Street in Farnham between the hours of 10pm to 6am Monday to Friday when the road will be closed.
Stagecoach service 5 - The last two journeys at 2210 and 2315 from Aldershot will follow the normal route as far as East Street (stop J) and will then divert via Woolmead Road, East Street, Guildford Road, the Shepherd and Flock roundabout and the A31 Farnham By-pass to Farnham Station. Returning from Farnham Station the bus will follow the normal route along the A31, West Street and The Borough.

Update for 5 January 2026
On 5 January 2026, the next phase of works start in Farnham as part of the Farnham town centre improvement works, and The Borough will be closed between Castle Street and South Street. Stagecoach buses that serve Farnham will operate to new timetables to allow for diversions and traffic conditions
4/5 - The route and timetable will be changing for both buses. Route 4 will enter and leave Farnham via Castle Street and will travel in both directions down West Street, turning around at the Coxbridge Roundabout. Route 5 will access Farnham via Hale Road as normal and will then terminate at Stop J on East Street. It will then loop round to Woolmead Road Stop G where it will depart for Aldershot.
16 - The route and timetable will be changing. Buses towards Aldershot will miss South Street, Downing Street, The Borough and Woolmead Road. Instead they will use the A31 and Guildford Road and will stop at Stop F outside Farnham Sports Centre. It will then loop around Dogflud Way and continue along East Steet past Farnham Hospital. Buses towards Rowledge will not change route.
18 - The route and timetable will be changing. Buses towards Aldershot will miss South Street, Downing Street, The Borough and Woolmead Road. Instead they will use the A31 and Guildford Road and will stop at Stop F outside Farnham Sports Centre. It will then loop around Dogflud Way and continue along East Steet past Farnham Hospital. Buses towards Bordon will not change route.
19 - The route and timetable will be changing. Buses towards Aldershot will miss South Street, Downing Street, The Borough and Woolmead Road. Instead they will use the A31 and Guildford Road and will stop at Stop F outside Farnham Sports Centre. It will then loop around Dogflud Way and continue along East Steet past Farnham Hospital. Buses towards Bordon will not change route.
65 - The route and timetable will be changing. Buses towards Guildford will miss West Street, The Borough and Woolmead Road. Instead they will travel along the A31 and up Guildford Road, stopping at Stop F outside Farnham Leisure Centre, they will then loop around Dogfud Way and continue along East Street and Guildford Road. Buses towards Alton will not change route.
404 - The route and timetable will be changing. Buses towards Farnborough in the morning will not change route. The lunchtime journey to Wrecclesham will use Castle Street and West Street and the A31 to turn around at the Shepherd and Flock roundabout and will then continue its normal route from Station Hill. The afternoon journey to Farnham Hospital will use Castle Street, West Street and the A31 to Guildford Road and will use Stop F at Farnham Sports Centre and then loop around Dogflud Way and East Street.
Service 46 will remain unchanged and will continue to enter Farnham via South Street, and will then terminate on Union Road. The return journey will continue to leave Union Road via Long Bridge and Firgrove Hill.

Addison Road, Guildford
Due to emergency works by Thames Water, Addison Road, Guildford will be closed from Wednesday 10 December for appoximately 3 days. As a result the Compass 23/25 service will be unable to serve any bus stops on Addison Road, Pewley Way and Harvey Road. The next-nearest bus stops for the 23/25 service will be the "Waterden Road" bus stops on Epsom Road.
The Street, West Horsley
Due to emergency gas works, the Street in West Horsley is closed from 10 December for approximately 1 week.
Reptons service 478 will be diverting via Epsom Road and Ockham Road South to the normal line route in both directions. It will not be able to serve The Street, East Lane and Ockham Road North.
Reptons service 678 will be diverting via Ockham Road North to the normal line of route in both directions It will not be able to serve East Lane, The Street, Epsom Road and Ockham Road South.
Banstead Road, Caterham
Due to emergency water works by SES Water, Banstead Road, Caterham will be closed from Wednesday 10 December for approximately 1 week. As a result the Metrobus 409 and 411 will be on diversion via Town End, and bus stops on Banstead Road will not be served. In addition the 409 service will be unable to serve stops on Coulsdon Road, though the 411 service will still be able to serve all other stops as normal, with the exception of the "Caterham on the Hill, Tesco" bus stop on Coulsdon Road towards Caterham on the Hill.
Lower Road, Effingham
Due to emergency repair works to a burst water main, Lower Road, Effingham (near the junction with Stovell Place) will be closed from 17:00 on Tuesday 9 December. As a result the Falcon 479 and 621 services and Reptons 678 service will be on diversion via The Street, A246 Guildford Road, Hawkwood Rise and The Lorne in both directions. Please be aware that school services will still serve the Howard of Effingham School as usual, turning around in the school grounds.
Manor Road, Tongham
Due to emergency works to remain a burst water main by South East Water, Manor Road, Tongham will be closed from Saturday 6 December for approximately 1 week. As a result the Stagecoach 20 service will be on diversion, and bus stops on Manor Road and Oxenden Road will not be served. Passengers for the Stagecoach 20 service should use the bus stops on Aldershot Road or Ash Street instead whilst the road remains closed.
Kingston Road, Ewell Village
Due to a collapsed manhole cover in the road, Kingston Road, Ewell Village (between the junctions of Chessington Road and London Road, outside of the Spring Tavern) has been closed as of 16:00 on Friday 5 December. As a result the First Bus 406 and 467 and Falcon Bus E16 services will be on diversion until the road is re-opened.
At present works are still taking place to determine the cause of the collapse and to make the area safe, and a re-opening date has not yet been set. We will update this entry as more information becomes available.
The Falcon Bus E16 and First Bus 406 services will be unable to serve stops on Kingston Road, Ewell Village between Beggar's Hill Roundabout and London Road (The Eight Bells and Shortcroft Road bus stops) whilst the closure remains in place. The First Bus 467 service will be unable to serve the Meadowview Road and Ewell West Railway Station bus stops on Chessington Road whilst the closure remains in place.
Walton Road, Woking
From 15 December for two nights, Walton Road in Woking will be closed for resurfacing works between the hours of 8pm to 6am.
Falcon service 436 will divert via Chertsey Road and Monument Hill. The nearest alternative stops will be Woking Railway Station, or Woking Business Park on Albert Drive.
Petworth Road, Haslemere
Due to carriageway works by ßÙßÇÂþ» Highways, Petworth Road, Haslemere will be closed from Monday 8 December for approximately 6 days (weekdays only, between 09:30 - 16:00). During these times and dates the Stagecoach 71 service will be on diversion, and will be unable to serve any bus stops between Chiddingfold and Haslemere High Street (the last stop served in Chiddingfold will be The Crown Inn). The 71 service will also be unable to serve bus stops between Haslemere High Street and Woolmer Hill Estate whilst on diversion, and instead there will be a free, hourly shuttle bus service between Woolmer Hill Estate and Haslemere High Street.

The 471 school bus service will likewise operate as normal on all days, albeit with some delays on the afternoon journey due to the necessary diversion.
Woking Road, Guildford
From Thursday 4 December, Woking Road in Guildford will be closed between Stoughton Road and the roundabout with the A3 slip road from the hours of 9pm to 6am. The works will be taking place weekdays and weekends and are expected to last for 2 weeks.
Stagecoach service 34 will divert via Worsplesdon Road and Salt Box Road in both directions. It will not be able to serve stops along the Woking Road while the road is closed..
Little Green Lane, Chertsey
From 20 November until 12 December, Little Green Lane is closed for gas works.
Falcon service 557 will divert via Green Lane in both directions and will not be able to serve stops at Lyndhurst Way, Ferndale Avenue and Inglewood.
Old Portsmouth Road, Peasmarsh
Due to major footway improvement works by ßÙßÇÂþ» Highways, Old Portsmouth Road, Peasmarsh (south of the junction with New Pond Road) will be closed from Monday 17 November for approximately 4 weeks (weekday nights only, between 8pm and 6am).
As a result the Stagecoach 70, 71 and 72 services will be affected, and will be on diversion via New Pond Road, Furze Lane, Bourne Road, Summers Road, St John's Street and Hare Lane in both directions. Bus stops on A3100 Old Portsmouth Road/Guildford Road/Meadrow will not be served between the junctions with New Pond Road and Hare Lane whilst these night works take place.
A3 Portsmouth road closures
National Highways are carrying out major safety improvement works to the A3 Wisley Interchange (M25 Junction 10). As a result there will be a series of weekend road closures at this location. This page will be updated when the next works are announced.
When closures are in place, the Falcon 714/'/715 service may only operate between Kingston and Cobham. The White Bus 462/463 service may not operate between Send Marsh Road and Ockham Roundabout, with bus stops in Ripley not being served.
As the nature of the closures may change as works progress, and different diversions may be necessary, we would advise passengers wishing to travel on these services to check the and websites for further updates before travelling.

Dawney Hill, Pirbright
Due to major works by ßÙßÇÂþ» Highways, Dawney Hill, Pirbright (between the junctions of Gole Road and School Lane) will be closed from Monday 13 October for approximately 5 months. Due to this closure, the following bus services will be on diversion: Falcon 28 and 690, and Stagecoach 28 and 91.
Whilst works take place, the Falcon 28 service and the Stagecoach 28 and 91 services will still serve bus stops along Connaught Road between Bagshot Road and Brookwood Railway Station, but will be unable to serve the following bus stops in the Pirbright/Brookwood area: Church Close, Railway Arch, Caterham Close, Brookwood Memorial and School Lane.
The Falcon 690 service will still serve all bus stops along Connaught Road and in Pirbright Camp, but will double-run Connaught Road to use Cemetery Pales as their diversion route. As a result the following bus stops will not be served: Caterham Close, Brookwood Memorial and School Lane.
Passengers should be aware that, due to these diversions, services may suffer delays at peak hours.
Send Marsh Road, Send
From Monday 1 September, Send Marsh Road in Send will be closed until approximately 19 December due to gas works.
White Bus services 462 and 463 will divert via Send Barns Lane and Portsmouth Road in both directions. The bus stops at Old Hall, Send Marsh Green, Tuckey Grove and Send Marsh Road (on Send Marsh Road) will not be served.
A320 Guildford Road, Chertsey
As part of the A320 North of Woking Improvements Scheme there are road works taking place on the A320 Guildford Road that will affect bus services. There will be a series of evening and weekend closures by St Peter's Hospital and this page will be updated when further works are announced.
While the road is closed, White Bus service 446 and Falcon service 461 will be diverting via Foxhill Road, Stonehill Road and Holloway Hill and will be using the hospital entrance on Holloway Hill to serve the St Peter's Hospital bus stop.
High Street, Godstone
Due to a major sinkhole appearing in the carriageway, High Street, Godstone (between the junctions with A25 Oxted Road and Salisbury Road) has been closed from 18 February until further notice. Reports indicate the road will most likely remain closed until at least March 2026.
As a result of this closure the Metrobus 400, 409 and 410 services are on diversion and cannot use Godstone High Street. Passengers are advised to catch their bus from the "Godstone Green" bus stop (near the Needle's Bank public toilets) instead. In addition the 410 service will also be unable to serve the "Crowhurst Mead" or "Church Lane" bus stops on the A25 Oxted Road.
With regards to school services, the Metrobus 612 service for Oxted School will also be on diversion, and will be unable to serve the "Crowhurst Mead" or "Church Lane" bus stops on A25 Oxted Road. Passengers for this service should either catch the bus from the "Godstone Green" bus stop (near the Needle's Bank public toilets) or can alternatively catch the Metrobus 611 service to Oxted School from the "Crowhurst Mead" and "Church Lane" bus stops on A25 Oxted Road.
Passengers should bear in mind that this service operates slightly earlier than the Metrobus 612 service, arriving at the "Crowhurst Mead" bus stop at 07:59, to arrive at Oxted School for 08:14.
Metrobus service 430 and 435
From 29 October 2022, Metrobus services 430 and 435 will not serve Royal Earlswood Park, Prince's Road and Earlsbrook Road due to operational issues until further notice. Bus stops along Woodlands Road will still be served as normal.
