The ßÙßÇÂþ» Minerals Plan is a suite of development plan documents which provide the policy framework for minerals development in ßÙßÇÂþ» until 2026.
The ßÙßÇÂþ» Minerals Plan Core Strategy 2011 (adopted July 2011) sets out the vision, objectives, targets and spatial strategy for minerals development. It also provides the policy framework for determining planning applications and identifies areas of search (for silica sand and brick clay) and mineral safeguarding areas.
The ßÙßÇÂþ» Primary Aggregates Development Plan Document 2011 (adopted July 2011) identifies preferred areas for mineral extraction to meet need for primary aggregates (sharp sand and gravel and soft sand) in ßÙßÇÂþ» and includes policies relevant to primary aggregate extraction.
The ßÙßÇÂþ» Minerals Site Restoration Supplementary Planning Document 2011 (adopted July 2011) sets out ßÙßÇÂþ»'s vision for how existing and proposed mineral workings should be restored.
The ßÙßÇÂþ» Aggregates Recycling Joint Development Plan Document 2013 (adopted February 2013) seeks to deliver the visions and aims of ßÙßÇÂþ»’s minerals and waste development plan documents relevant to aggregate recycling.
The ßÙßÇÂþ» Minerals Plan should be read in conjunction with ßÙßÇÂþ»’s latest Local Aggregate Assessment and Authority Monitoring Report documents which are published annually.
