ßÙßÇÂþ»­â€™s 2050 Place Ambition

In 2017 ßÙßÇÂþ»­'s local authorities developed a Local Strategic Statement (LSS) to facilitate cooperation on key strategic planning issues. It sets out shared objectives around spatial, infrastructure and economic issues and a broad direction for spatial planning on strategic priorities.

In 2019, the ßÙßÇÂþ»­ Future Steering Board published version 1 of ßÙßÇÂþ»­'s 2050 Place Ambition. It sets out an ambitious approach to facilitate the delivery of "good growth" to enable ßÙßÇÂþ»­ to continue to play a full part in contributing to national economic prosperity over the next 30 years as a key driver of growth, innovation and skills and remain an excellent place where people can live, work and learn.

The ßÙßÇÂþ»­ Infrastructure Steering Group are now publishing version 2 of the Place Ambition. This document refreshes the original version taking account of the impact of the pandemic, actions needed to support a zero-carbon future and new policy documents and other local and countywide work currently being undertaken across ßÙßÇÂþ»­.

The draft version 2 was available for consultation on the from December 2021 to March 2022. A summary of the analysis of the consultation responses is available on request by emailing planning.consultations@surreycc.gov.uk
