Discover the magic of storytelling through the Kavad Box, a traditional folding storytelling shrine from Rajasthan, India. For centuries, Kavad storytellers have opened painted panels to reveal stories of memory, family, folklore, and imagination - turning storytelling into a visual, hands-on experience.
In this workshop, Nami Ralph introduces the history of the Kavad and its role in oral storytelling traditions. Participants will then create their own Kavad inspired story box using pre-prepared templates, designing a structure that opens and unfolds to tell a personal or imagined story. This creative, hands-on workshop is ideal for those who enjoy storytelling, making and visual narratives.
