Highways teams out and about refreshing roadsides
Our extra highways teams have been continuing their work to keep the county tidy and safe over the last few months, to get ßÙßÇÂþ»’s roads and pavements set for summer.
Since November 2024, our Roadside Rangers have carried out a series of improvements, ensuring our highways and public spaces are safer, more accessible, and more visually appealing.
A freshly edged footpath makes walking easier, a cleaned sign helps you find your way, and a cleared drain prevents puddles and flooding. These small but important improvements make a big difference to the way you experience your community.
Here’s what they got up to in April:
- Refreshed over 120 roads
- Cleared and cutback 12km of weeds and vegetation, creating cleaner, more inviting spaces
- Cleaned 20 extra drains to help prevent flooding
- Repaired and cleaned over 750 signs and 100 railings and bollards to improve the look of ßÙßÇÂþ»’s streets
- Completed 16km of footway edging to widen and clear footpaths, making walking safer and more enjoyable for pedestrians.
